JACKSON, Wis. - The Ripon men's tennis team opened their season with a loss Friday night, falling to Concordia (Wis.) by a score of 8-1. Ripon's lone team point came in singles play, while getting swept 3-0 in doubles action.

Eric Seiler, who is coming off a season that saw him finish with a team-best record of 13-7, earned the only team point for Ripon (0-1). He defeated Benjamin Nommensen 6-3, 7-5 at the top singles flight. Lincoln Wurtz and J.J. Grinde also put up a fight, before losing at number two and three singles, respectively, by scores of 4-6, 4-6, and 3-6, 5-7.

In doubles play, Ripon was outscored 17-11, with the third flight going to Concordia (1-0) by default.

The Red Hawks will hope to notch their first victory of 2015 on Saturday, February 14 when they'll face the University of Dubuque and MSOE at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively, in Milwaukee.
