Ripon played a pair of Midwest Conference matches Saturday afternoon, losing to Knox and Monmouth by scores of 7-2 and 9-0, respectively.

In their first match of the day, the Red Hawks (0-11, 0-3 MWC) won two of the six singles matches against Knox (1-13, 1-0 MWC), as Lincoln Wurtz was victorious at the top flight (6-1, 7-5) and Ben Ermatinger won at the fifth flight (6-2, 0-6, 7-5). The Prairie Fire won all three doubles matches by a combined score of 25-15, as Ripon's number one doubles team of Wurtz and Zach Muench put up a fight before losing 9-8 (16-14).

The Red Hawks then finished the day with a loss to Monmouth (5-7, 3-0 MWC). Wurtz had the most competitive match in singles play, falling 6-2, 6-3. Monmouth won all three doubles matches by a combined score of 24-3.

Ripon will be in action again Sunday when they'll travel to Illinois College. That match is set for 9 a.m. in Jacksonville, Ill.
