RIPON, Wis. - In their first home meet of the season, the Ripon College men's swim team defeated Lawrence University in a dual meet by a score of 98-86. The Red Hawks finished the day with five individual first place finishes, while winning one relay.
"This was another good meet for our swimmers. The men's team had a really close competition, so I'm happy that they rallied together and swam well to win," Ripon Head Swim Coach
Ryan Goggans said.
Nate Pakosz was the only Ripon men's swimmer to win multiple events in the meet, finishing first in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle with times of 22.43 and 49.31, respectively.
Carson Rose added a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly (55.83), while
Jack Lutter won the 100 backstroke (56.72).
Ben Georgia took first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.66, which was nearly five seconds better than the second-place finisher.
In relay competition, Ripon's 200 Freestyle team of Lutter, Pakosz,
Ethan Ripp, and
Alec Sutton won the event with a time of 1:31.82.
Ripon will take next week off from competition, before jumping back in the pool on November 11, as they'll host Beloit and North Central in a double dual at Willmore Center beginning at 1 p.m.
