Box Score vs. Buena Vista

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Ripon men's tennis team lost both matches they played Saturday afternoon, falling to both University of Dubuque and Buena Vista. Dubuque downed the Red Hawks 9-0, before Buena Vista topped Ripon by a 6-3 margin.

In Ripon's first match of the day, they lost all six singles matches, while also dropping their three doubles matches by a combined 24-5 margin. The most competitive match in singles play came at the fifth flight where Ben Ermatinger put up a fight before losing 6-3, 6-3. Lincoln Wurtz dropped his number one singles match 6-2, 6-3.

In Ripon's second match of the day, the Red Hawks won two of their six singles matches and one of the three doubles matches. In singles play, Ermatinger won his fifth-flight match by a score of 6-4, 1-6, 10-7, while Steven Lanphier was victorious at the sixth flight by a commanding 6-0, 6-1 score. That duo teamed up for Ripon's only doubles victory at the number three flight, winning 8-2.

The Red Hawks (0-4) will try to break into the win column next weekend when they'll travel to both Simpson College and Bethany Lutheran at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
