OSHKOSH, Wis. - Ripon's men's tennis team nearly picked up a victory Friday night, but were ultimately edged by Marian University by a score of 5-4. The Red Hawks won three of their six singles matches, but won just one of their three doubles matches.

In singles play, Junmo Kwon gave Ripon (0-7) a team point with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the second flight. Ben Ermatinger was also victorious at the fourth flight, winning 6-3, 4-6, 10-4, while Steven Lanphier won Ripon's sixth flight match by a score of 7-5, 6-2.

Ripon's lone doubles victory came at the number three flight where Kwon teamed up with Omari Chenault to earn an 8-4 victory. Marian (2-1) won the top two doubles flights by a combined score of 16-6.

The Red Hawks will be in action again on Saturday, April 1, when they'll travel to Illinois College. That match will begin at 10 a.m. in Jacksonville, Ill.
