Ripon Closes Out Season At MWC Championships

Ripon's 2018 Men's Tennis season came to an end over the weekend at the annual Midwest Conference Championships. The Red Hawks earned three wins during the weekend of play.

At number one singles, Junmo Kwon defeated Knox's Jared Schwarz 6-1, 6-2 in the first round, before bowing out in the quarterfinals to Lake Forest's Nick Zazove.

Ripon's other two victories came in doubles play. At the top doubles flight, Marcus Austin teamed up with Emilio Tijerino to defeat Knox's Schwarz and Ganesh Uppalapu 8-5, before losing to Grinnell in the quarterfinals. At the number three flight, Ripon's Euguene Pliska and Daniel Garcia defeated Matt Bailey and Hank Horwitz 8-2, but the team of Pliska and Garcia also lost to Grinnell in the quarterfinals.
