Women's Swimming and Diving Places Fifth At MWC Championship

GRINNELL, Iowa – The Ripon College women's swimming and diving team placed fifth at the MWC Championships, which wrapped up Sunday night.

The Red Hawks tallied 245 points at the three-day meet.

Grinnell won the championship with 863.5 points, edging Lake Forest by just three points. St. Norbert was third with 616 points. Lawrence accounted for fourth place with 270 points.

Leading off the day, Abby Anderson and Sky Domingo each narrowly missed out on a top-eight finish. Anderson posted a ninth-place effort with a time of 19:23.61 for nine points while Domingo earned six points after touching the wall in 19:33.15.

Lauren Bahr and Natalie Weidner each scored in the 100 freestyle. Bahr took 14th in 56.80 while Weidner was 15th with a time of 57.60. The duo combined for five points.

Sophie Czerwonka notched a ninth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke. She garnered a mark of 2:33.52, which was worth nine points.

The quartet of Domingo, Czerwonka, Weidner and Bahr combined for a fifth-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. Their effort allowed the team to collect 28 points.
