Gerald Trochinski became the first in Midwest Conference history to win a wrestling championship as a first-year student. He lettered in wrestling all four years and became the college’s winningest wrestler with a 93-11 record. He placed third in the conference in 1972 and was runner-up in 1973, while also lettering in track.
