Tami Thronson-Hrasky was a valuable member of the volleyball and track and field teams at Ripon College. She earned First Team All-Conference honors for volleyball in 1988 and 1989, setting individual records for kills in both seasons. In track and field, Tami was a leading high jumper, setting records in both indoor and outdoor competition in 1987 and 1988. In 1988, she was conference champion in the event during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. She also set the indoor record for the 55-meter hurdles in 1988. Tami, who also played two seasons of basketball at Ripon, received the Samuel N. Pickard Award for athletic ability, scholarship, character and College loyalty.
