Troy Youngbauer '96 was a two-time First Team All-Conference selection as a linebacker for Ripon's football team, earning West Region All-America honors in 1995, while also being named Defensive Team Most Valuable Player. He still ranks third in school history for career tackles (277), while ranking sixth in quarterback sacks (12), and recording five career interceptions. Youngbauer was a member of two of the top 10 single-season sack teams in program history, including the school record of 39 in 1992. He helped lead Ripon to an MWC North Division title as a senior in 1995, setting the tone for the program's 1996 MWC Championship team.
