William Rogers' appearance at Ripon ended a 23-year conference basketball title drought. During his three years of basketball at Ripon, the team won three consecutive conference titles. “Willie” excelled as a rebounder and shot blocker and received honorable mention All-Conference three times. Rogers was also an outstanding track performer, winning three letters, while tying the conference record in the high jump as a sophomore and winning the conference in the broad jump as a junior. The Crimson said Rogers “continued to amaze spectators and participants alike with easy going victories in the high jump, broad jump, 100-yard dash and 180-yard low hurdles.”
